Ok I used the "search" engine but it didn’t really yield any up-to-date info. I’ll be in Sydney at the end of July and I’ve researched on hostelworld, hostelplanet, BUG, etc for hostels and looked at Lonely Planet and Let’s Go, but there are so many choices, I thought I’d just throw these out there for opinions before I make my final choice (bearing in mind that I’m 23, traveling alone, social when I feel the company deserves it… just joking, I want to meet everyone—so I want my hostel to have atmosphere, not like a morgue…oh, I’d also like to stay away from hostels where people stay for long periods of time looking/working at jobs because they already have their set group of friends and aren’t as friendly I’ve found in the past):

The Pink House
Glebe Village Backpackers

So out of the seemingly hundreds of hostels, these look like they have the best reviews. Comments?
