Hi,

I will be in French Polynesia for amost 10 days at the end of a much longer circle pacific journey. I know these islands are not frequented by backpackers but I was curious if anyhow has ever been here and can offer tips on the islands. I plan to see a few islands, camping on the beach as much as much as possible and hiking the mountains. Any help is appreciated.

I have not yet been there, but have already made plans to go in Spring of 2006… It is absolute paradise, and you will not want to come back. That much I know, hearing the stories of quite a few very well-traveled people…
