How is the nightlife in Tbilisi?
I am leaving from US and traveling for 11 days
London, Brussels, Basel, Paris, London

Guess no one has been to Tbilisi, Georgia

Sorry,
The nearest place I’ve heard about is Sochi, just outside of Georgia. What I heard is that it is very touristy.
Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, and end up getting charged double.
Sochi is really a very popular Russian tourist spot on the Black Sea. Similarly Batumi is an autonomous state of the country of Georgia.
Wonder how is it?

is it safe to be out alone in the night?

Not in my neighborhood.

Need to know which neighbour hoods are safe and which not to venture out. Of course, I will be at the city center hopefully most of the time, but in case….

Is this another project or a vacation? I think I posted somewhere else, I just graduated with my computer science and math minor degree.

Vacation at this time of the year??????? Leaving my family and home behind? No, it is all work
I just have to do a presentation for a few groups. Thats all,

I have been here for over 2 weeks and the evenings are quite boring for me. I live 2 blocks off Rustaveli, so can anyone advise if there is some place to hang out and meet some interesting people.
I am too old for discos. Would prefer to go more to a pub or any other ideas.

Get out there and shake your arse.

Most of the nightlife is swarmed with youngsters making me very uncomfortable. Not that I go clubbing I was more inclined to go to places where I can carry on some interesting conversations.
Rest of my Georgian collagues are all with their own families after 7 where as i am in front of CNN.
what a charming life?

Get out there and talk to the young ‘uns. It’ll pep you up.

Most georgians dont know english or they just wont talk english.. so trying to start a conversation is futile in Georgia unless you know their language, Georgian… As for safe neighbourhoods, its mostly safe but for some drunk or stoned vagabonds roaming the streets.. stay away from places called Geppey because refugees live there and you will most likely get mugged there… Stay at Vake because they have a SHeraton and other grand hotels there..

You are right, no one seems to be responding in English, although everyone claims to know English.
The only place that i see people responding comfortably is McDonalds on Rustaveli.
Where is Geppey?
I am staying in the Vera district proximity of my office and next to Melikisvili and Rustaveli. Marriot and Sheraton is just to expensive and budget does not allow for it. Prefer Elvis to eat as it is cheaper and better than McD.
Atleast the Thai restaurant at the the Elvis is quite decent.
As for safety, everyone swears that it is the safest place in Europe. I see policeman all over the places so i guess security is tight.
