TEFL Courses, experience?
Sun, 10/17/2004 - 12:30
Hey all,
I have been researching various TEFL courses and they all pretty much say the same things about what they offer and what you will gain from the course. I am just now looking to find out about people’s personal experiences with them, where they studied, what company they studied under, were they hired? If so, for how long? How much work is really out there (specifically in Europe)? Is there a struggle with making ends meet with bills and living expenses? Is it possible to get short term non-volunteer work? ETC ETC.
Can anyone please tell me a little about your personal experience? Thanks in advance.

Hello
Im looking into TESL as well but more in the Southeast Asia region. A friend of mone recently got back from teaching English in Korea. (while it may be different than europe but…) Anyway, the short of it is, she made good money, and was setup with a host family. She did have to sign a contract for a year however. Also, Ive heard that its always good to have a back job/position for where you are going incase that the position that your company finds for you isnt that good (apparently that happens quite frequently). Other than that, she had an incredible life experience, and made some good cash – this has definately inspired me to do it as well. Hope this was a lil helpful for you
take’r easy
