temporary work

I was simply wondering if getting temporary work is difficult. There are plenty of web-sites offering to help find you a job and a place to stay in Europe for a small fee. Are these worth it? Has anyone heard of BUNAC and is it reputable? I want to work for three months and then backpack around the rest of Europe for another 2-3 months.
I do know of one person who has used BUNAC, but it was in Australia. They never experienced any problems with them. They did 3-4 months working, and then travelled around for a bit, so you should have no problems.
