Ticket Price Fluctuation
Wed, 01/19/2011 - 02:27
Planning my EuroTrip for this Summer and almost done. Soon I will be purchasing tickets, while looking around I realized something and would like to see if anyone could help.
Looking for multy-city flights on Kayak and Fly resulted in:
http://www.kayak.com…
As of right now the price is $1394, however about three days ago it was at $1367. It has been climbing at about $10 a day..
Is it going to stop climbing up? Is there a chance that the price will drop down depending on how the economy is doing or are there other factors? Thanks!

That’s pretty normal. It might stop climbing, or it might keep going up. No one can predict with 100% accuracy. Some of it depends on fuel prices—which are rising currently. $1300-$1400 is a pretty standard summer airfare from west coast to Europe, if purchased well in advance.
Have you tried all of the links and tips in our new user thread (pinned @top of this forum)? Consolidators? Student/youth agencies—if you qualify? Are you already signed up for sale alerts with Farecompare and Airfarewatchdog (or others)? Don’t expect summer sales to be so great. If you can get this closer to $1100, you’ll be doing well.
As an alternative… if you’re traveling light (1 checked bag 20kg or less) then consider going via a cheaper hub—if you find one. Train or cheap flight hops onward from there.
I’ve tried all the other links, but not the student agencies or alerts. Will try all the tips, thanks!
