I’m leaving on my 15-week solo Mediterranean trip in 19 days (aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) and I’m getting a little concerned about being overly bothered by men, especially considering I went out to the bar last night wearing infinitely more layers than I will be in sunny southern europe and was accosted not once, but four times by groups of guys asking me to accompany them to a club, or where I was going, or my name, etc, etc. How do you deal with unwanted attention? I always try to avoid eye contact (my, the sidewalk is fascinating!) and ignoring, but sometimes that becomes impossible, like last night when one of the guys actually grabbed my shoulder! Are there any things you say or do to make the men run away? I’m young, tall, and very fair (though not blonde at the moment) so I’m a little concerned.
