tons of questions?!!

so when you are booking a hostel and bed linens have a big red “x” next to it what does that mean?
I think it means the hostel doesn’t provide linens.
so there are no sheets on beds? that seems silly! why would i pack my own sheets?
Actually people often travel with a sleep sheet like this:

If bed linens aren’t included you can usually rent them for a euro or two. Has anyone ever stayed at a hostel where linens weren’t available at all?
Yes, they always provide sheets I think, it’s just whether or not you have to pay for them. That’s why some people bring their own sleep sheet, like augustin said. Also, sometimes even if they are free, you have to put down a deposit that you get back when you check out and return them. (hostels also like to do the deposit thing with room keys)
