tpa-lon cheap?
Mon, 03/02/2009 - 12:55
we are hopefully taking a trip in june. been researching flights heavily for the past 2-3 wks. i guess since today is the 1st business day of march tampa even dropped more. today i found: tpa-lon: $869. i am trying to find flights under $800 in the tampa/jax/orlando area. am i being too optomistic…or should i be acting soon?
also has anybody flown klm?
I am traveling for 20 days
Seville, Brussels, Inverness, London

I’m not sure if you’ll find anything cheaper; it’s always possible. If you decide that $860 is about the best you’ll do and are still planning on visiting both London and Madrid, I’d seriously consider an open-jaw fare into London and home from Madrid for about $900.
thanx again austin. i have been really researchin the open jaw. we are actually going to seville and then flying out london. i would do train from madrid-seville and ironically it pretty much takes the same amount of time to fly from stn. add the bus ride from heathrow to stansted it takes a 1 1/2 more hours but in the end its pretty close to the same arrival. the open jaw to seville and out london is still over $1000. its looking like as we get a bit closer the jun 30th flight will hope fully get cheaper.

Generally, the earlier you can depart in June, the more likely you might save ~$200 on this trip. $1000+ for June transatlantic airfares is typical.
So, your ideal itinerary would be TPA-SVQ, LON-TPA.? You need to depart Fla. 30 June, and stay about how long? Outbound date determines fare season; length of stay can affect which fare classes apply — that’s why I ask.
I’m seeing BA with TPA-LGW for $880 r/t total for nonstop flights — sounds like you might have already found that one. Adding Sanford, Orlando, and Jacksonville to the search turned up … 880 still cheapest, but also this price from MCO with Virgin. Taking LON out, MCO-MAD 957 Delta.
MCO-DUB comes up 657 (Delta)
thanks again guys for your time. here is my travel itinerary if it helps at all:
leave june 10-12: tpa, jax, gnv,or mco to seville or malaga or even madrid
come back june 30: lon to tpa, jax, gnv, or mco
don you seem to be getting slightly les prices than me. where are you getting them? do you go to the actual sights. i have using kayak mainly. is there a better way?

I used ITA and guessed your stay at 13-14 nights. With the updated info, best I see is $983 TPA-AGP, LHR-TPA on Delta. Expedia has this itinerary for $990; Delta.com has it $989.
good to know. 983 is still a bit more than i would like to pay, but i feel that it is getting closer. do you think i am too optimistic to wait for something closer to $800? i am still so tempted by by tpa-dublin $671 and dublin-malaga $81. $752 vs $983 especially when i am paying for myself and my wife. and iam there only 2 1/2 hrs later. am i crazy?
Seville, Brussels, Inverness, London
tpa mad mad tpa=786
tpa mad lon tpa =861
mco-mad lon mco=861
mco mad mad mco=786
awesome stuff!!! contemplating taking action on one of these…but thinking about waiting a week or so. fares are dropping. want to take action fast! any idea when the basement might come? thanx for all your info
Seville, Brussels, Inverness, London
Another open jaw option I saw is TPA-LON, MAD-TPA for $786 on American.
its dropped again. wooohoo.
mco-mad lon-mco=$796
right price however, my ideal would still be:
mco-svq lon mco…which is $921
but i am still leaning towards going through madrid and taking the train down.Seville, Brussels, Inverness, London
American has JAX-SVQ, LHR-JAX for $857.
but thats w/o taxes.

You’re right. Forgot I wasn’t searching Kayak or another site that shows prices after taxes.
