Hello all,

We are heading out to Western Europe from May 24-June 16. We are leaving from Los Angeles, California and into London. We found a flight to London and out of Dublin for $787, so we jumped on that. We have never been to Europe so are looking for any pointers on hostels, transportation, nightlife, etc. We are all recent college graduates looking for one last adventure before we get “real” jobs and have families and so on.

We know what cities we are going to and we know our route (London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Geneva, Rome, Barcelona, Dublin). We have 2-3 nights in each city. We were planning on getting a 5 country pass for $385 and then flying from Rome to Barcelona and from Barcelona to Dublin. Then we were debating on how to get from London to Paris. Any recommendations on hostels, travel, nightlife, will help us out. We have never been to Europe, so we are rookies.

We also have a website for our trip, www.throwusacrossthe…. We came up with the idea one night because we really wanted to go to Europe this summer, but have been unable to find jobs in this economy after graduating college. We are taking donations as little as 25 cents. You should check it out if you have the time. Thanks Smile

Again, this is our first time out there, so any info helps! Thanks again!

-Bryan

I’d definitely start with Eurostar, the chunnel train. It will be much faster and more comfortable than any other option. Use www.eurostar.com to look for leisure fares and other specials.

ROM>BCN as low as $49 one-way with airline Vueling.com
BCN>DUB as low as $64 with Aer Lingus. Ryanair might be cheaper from Girona or Reus, but remember to add bus cost (12 EUR?) + abt. 1.5 hour extra travel time for the bus.
LON>PAR $41 airfare + any fees + bus to Luton + train from DeGaulle airport to central Paris. Consider also Eurostar train, $63 from TGV currently (found with Momondo.com). I guessed this travel date at May 27 because your itinerary page wouldn’t load for me.

Thank you for the help. Eurostar is definitely the way to go for us. Thanks for that.

I’ve been looking around for flights. I will check at vueling.com for the barcelona flight. Thank you.
