Transportation to Brussels Charleroi airport
Wed, 05/03/2006 - 18:35
Good day:
I intend to book a flight from Brussels Charleroi, Belgium to Pisa, Italy.
The only flight leaves at 6:30, but the earliest bus transport from Brussels to the airport leaves at 4:30, and takes 1 hour to get there. According to the Ryanair website, they are very strict about closing check in 40 minutes before the flight. That only leaves 20 minutes for a line-up and check in.
Has anyone done this? Or will I have to pay 90 euros for a cab?
Please advice.

This might help: www.charleroi-airpor…
I saw it but the first train goes around 6:00AM and the last aroun 23:00.
I guess I´ll have to wait until I get there and get some local help. Unless someone from Belgium is around…
I already bought the tickets. 67 euros for two people with 2 20 kg loads is to good to pass.
Have a good day.
I don’t know about Charleroi, but many people sleep the night at the airport for early Ryanair flights.

I wouldn’t be confident of being able to check in if you take that train, because even if you are in line at the window at the check-in cutoff, Ryanair agents will just slam the window down on you right then.
Another possibility is to see if you can find a nearby hotel for that one night, and then take a shuttle or cab in the morning. It would probably be cheaper overall than a cab from Brussels. Check http://www.ryanairho…
It looks like I will be staying in this town, since my wife will not approve the sleepover, this is from one of the hotels:
65.00 euros . Breakfast is 9.00 euros per person .
The hotel has no shuttle . So you have to take a taxi . One way to Charleroi Airport is 12.50 euros.
First time on Ryanair, how strict is the 40 min cut-off? and how slow is the line, do I have to be there 2 hours in advance? That is 4:30 AM at the airport! And how reliable are they for being on-time?
Thanks again.
They are 100% strict. It’s happened to people that one family member will get checked in, but not the other family member, because right on the dot, the agent slams down the window. The agent who is checking you in has to go to their other job – preparing for boarding of the aircraft, and he or she is required to be on time for that.
I haven’t been to Charleroi, so I can’t say how quickly their line in particular moves. But if the people in front of you are slow, too bad for you!
