How would we go about getting from Madrid-Valencia for the tomato fight ?
We have eurail passes but its for 5 days travel and our 5 days are already chosen, can we take a bus inside the country ?
its just that one way train tickets seem to cost like 100 bucks so i was wondering the cheapest way to get to valencia from madrid without going back.

Where did you price your tickets, because they gave you really bad prices. Try this site instead: http://horarios.renf…
There are two ways to do this by train. The faster train will go from Madrid to Valencia in about 3.5 hours and costs 41 euros. It doesn’t stop in Buñol, so you’d have to buy another ticket for the regional train to backtrack from Valencia to Buñol, about 50 minutes away. This will cost more and not save you time. The slower regional train from Madrid stops in Buñol, takes about five hours, and costs 21 euros.
You could also take the bus, but the website I normally use to check Spanish busses has no info about that route, so I can’t help.
But this site doesnt seem to have anything from barcelona, we might skip madrid and go to bunol from barcelona
and we also might possibly be going to the tomato fight from mallorca/ibiza. What is the cheapest way to get from the balearic islands into bunol then ?
Flying is probably your cheapest bet for getting to/from the Balearics; you’d fly into Valencia then grab the train or bus to Buñol. Check http://www.whichbudg… for some options. If you can’t find a good itinerary you can also take a ferry: http://www.aferry.to…
guys,
when is this tomato fight?
First you wanted to know the cheapest way from Madrid to Valencia (then Bunol) for la Tomatina; I researched the Bus Company that does that route. Then you complained that the Auto-Res site doesn’t show anything from Barcelona. Sorry about that! In Spain, there are many Bus Companies and each does certain routes. ALSA, Continental-Auto and Viajes Julia are three other Independent Bus Companies. You will probably have to research them (and several others).
Then you say you might be coming to la Tomatina from Ibiza or Mallorca. I would like to help you but a moving target is hard to hit.
I am looking to go to the tomato fight from Barcelona as well! We need to get together. Have you found accomodation in Valencia yet? I am having trouble finding something decently priced. Then we’d have to train to Bunol. I get into Barcelona no later than the 28th. Let me know your plans! My e-mail is bobbified@yahoo.com-get a hold of me asap.
your email didnt work =/
That’s odd-I hope I don’t have a virus or something. I sure seem to be getting emough e-mail from spammers! lol Try it again, and if it doesn’t work hit me up on myspace — www.myspace.com/bobb… . Ttyl
