Alright so im wondering what the transportation situation is for Ireland. Im looking into including Galway and Shannon into the Irish portion of my trip (Link Below, check it out i would love some feed back and ideas to fill up my itinerary!) and i am wondering what is the quickest most cost effective route from Galway or Shannon to Dublin. Any insight would be appreciated! Smile

By Shannon, do you mean Limerick? If so, I was underwhelmed, and wish I had overnighted in Galway instead.

http://www.buseirean… 3 hrs, 10 mins. 14,25 Euros.
http://new.irishrail… Fastest I see is 2hrs, 37mins no changes. some trains showing as cheap as 10 Euros.

Well I meant the town of Shannon to the Northwest of Limerick, but I’ve decided on just flying into Shannon and taking a bus or rail to Galway…any suggestions on Shannon to Galway?

And thanks for that Irish rail website! I will probably take an early morning train from Galway to Dublin. Thanks for the help.

Looks like Bus Eireann every hour from SNN airport to Galway bus station. Duration 1hr, 50mins, and cost 14,25 EUR. 11,40 for student.
