Hey, i am wanting the cheapest way to get to and from turkey (istanbul) in August this year.  I will be either leaving from&nbsparis or Interlaken, Switzerland. I don’t care if i fly, bus, train, or whatever, just so long as its roughly the cheapest.  Then on the way back i need the cheapest route from Istanbul to London leaving around 25-28th Aug.  It would be great if anyone could offer me some advice on how they think the best way in and out of istanbul is.  at the moment i have a flight from Basel (switzerland) to Istanbul for 75.95 CHF and then i have a flight from istanbul to london for 74.49 pounds – which sucks.  I got these flights from easyjet.  if anyone could let me know how to beat these prices i would be hugely greatful.  Thanks heaps.

I flew Istanbul to London in december, it was a bit cheaper than that, so keep checking as it might get cheaper.  And just a tip, a shuttle bus to the airport is very long and prices vary depending on where you book them from.  There are a lot of booking companies near the hostels at Sultanahmet, check the prices of all of them, some will charge 10 or 15 Lira more than others.

I think air is the only practical way to travel.  Any ground transport will probably be a 24+ hour journey.
