Temerpatures can range from freezing 0 C  (32 F) to 18 C (65 F).  As I posted here: http://www.eurotrip.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=122854 it’s not my favorite time of year in Southern Europe, unless you plan on skiing.  Expect cold cloudy/rainy days, but also expect some beautiful sunny days.  Expect nice weather one day, cold and raining the next, and even freezing on some nights in some places.   Dress in layers, and a warm jacket.  Umbrella would be nice.

bad time to travel…weather will more than likely suck, but what with climate change the weather has become more unpredictable.  Europe this year has had a below average summer, hardly any sun, a shed load of rain for winter, who knows what to expect!  pack clothing for every eventuality, that’s my advice

Weather might only “suck” in England. Depending on where you are in France, the winter weather can be rather pleasant (requiring only a light jacket or fleece). Can’t speak to winter weather in Spain, Italy, Greece. An umbrella is more than just nice, it’s necessary.

HikesSelwood, please do keep traveling in the high season. It just makes my winter travel more pleasant and less crowded.
