Travel Gods Help Me!
Sun, 03/06/2005 - 11:14
Hello Everyone
I plan on taking a trip to greece this summer, and was wondering what my best avenue is. I am lookin at going anywhere between june 27th and july 10 coming home between aug 15 – 30. I am very flexible and I am willing to even land in another country and travel. I am a student so I need to keep things cheap.
I would’t mind taking the train from paris to greece if it was around the same price including train fair. I love to travel so those things would’t be an inconvience

Some important info needed to point you in the right direction:
from where?
do you qualify for student or youth (under 25) tickets?
Hey there,
First off you can’t take the train to Greece…you have to either fly in or ferry over from Italy unless you’re planning on going in through the north. So I would recommend landing in Italy if you want to see another country besides Greece (unless you have your heart set on Paris in which case just bear in mind you’ll still have to fly into Athens or take the train through Italy as well). France is also more expensive in my opinion so if you want to keep it cheap I think landing in Italy is your best bet.
PS – The ferry from Bari, Brindisi, or Ancona will take you to Patra and from there you can catch the bus to Athens…it’s a bit of a trek but you said you don’t mind
