In Rome, I have stayed at Papa Germano’s near the Stazione Termini, he has cheap rates as well, very clean, internet, etc.

Last year I went with some friends to Hotel Al Vagon, it’s a 1 star hotel, it’s quite cheap but the rooms are comfy and clean. It’s near Rialto.
