Hi!
Iam planning an trip to another continent. Iam traveling by myself an gonna meet up with som friends in America. I was first dreaming about Africa, but I`ve heard that it`s not recomended for alone travelers. I also want to keep the economic part a little low. Therfor I have heard that Asia is a good choice. Therfore Iam planning to by som flight tickets to Thailand or Malaysia. From one of this places Iam planning to backpack a greater area of Asia. My question is as following; What to prioritate? Which places is the best?

I look for places that is quiet and not filled with tourists, to places where I will meet other backpackers. Is there some locations in Thailand / Malaysia that is recomended for youths thinking about partying? (Because some friends maybe coming down for an 2 weeks periode)
I will spend about two and an half month in Asia…

The last little trip (call it a stop) is in Los Angeles. Since many of you allready living in the US maybe you got some ideas for where to go? Iam gonna meet a friend there, but the first two days I will travel by myself.

Also Iam gonna travel in the periode 1 January to 30/31 March.

Iam planning to travel in 3 months. Is this too long, or to short?

Iam gratefull to answears.

3 months is more than enough for Malaysia and Thailand. I wrote to your note on the other forum.
Check it out and then ask the specific questions.

Hi. Here are some questions;

How is Krabi in Thailand? I`ve heard great things about this island.
Where should I go to see the locals away from the tourists?
I have heard that I can live in most of Asia countries for 10 -20 dollars per day, right or wrong?
If some friends comes over, wher shall we go to experience the party life? (Maybe another country than Thailand?)
I`ve heard nice things about the "friendly path" that bindes China with Nepal(?). Can I get there from Thailand?
To wich countries can I travel by myself (with train or bus) without needing an flight ticket?

Vietnam is great for solo travelers. Cambodia has alot going for it, Thailand can be alot of fun. If you want to avoid crowds, Myanmar and Laos probably have the least, although there are some spots that will have lots of backpackers (like Vang Vieng).

I really like South East Asia.
