travel from paris to lucerne, then venice

i’l be travelling from paris to lucerne, then to venice from 4th til 12th november. Which will be the best way of travelling or the best pass to be bought? I have 2 options: 1)either to take the plane from paris to geneva, then train to lucerne…then from lucerne take the night train to venice…or 2) take the train from paris to lucerne,skip geneva, then from lucerne to milan, stay 1 night and then train to venice again…

I’m not sure what current pass prices are but I’m going to guess point to point tickets are cheaper! Both of those fares need to be booked in advance FYI. If you want to stop in Milan on the way be sure to book the Lucerne-Milan in advance and the Milan-Venice segment costs only EUR 27ish.
Personally I would do the Lucerne-Milan-Venice by day since the ride from Lucerne-Milan via Arth-Goldau and Lugano is amazing.

I doubt a pass will be a good deal. A 3 country select is $ 472 for adults (26 & over), $307 for youth. A France/Switzerland pass is $402 for adults and $287 for youth, plus you’d need a point to point ticket for the part from the Swiss border to Venice. A pass will only help if you’re taking some day trips in Switzerland AND are traveling on rail lines in Switzerland that are covered by the pass. Some lines in Switzerland are owned operated by private companies that aren’t part of Eurail.
