I am looking to go from NYC to ROME in mid August for about 10 days and am having a tough time figuring out the most economical way to do this. Tickets are expensive now and I check repeatedly, daily, every site I can find for discounts or sales. At what point do I just suck it up and pay the 800-900 bucks for the flight? I dont want to wait and get stuck paying more. Also, what is the best strategy for getting a hotel out there as well? Is my best bet to buy a package? They seem very expensive and I am sure the best deals dont pop up on the major package sites?
