what are your favorite travel videos and why? there is rick steves, globetrekker, lonely planet, and more. i own all of rick steves current videos. rick steves doesnt seem to care about the party aspect of europe (love parade, octoberfest, running of the bulls, staying out until morning, clubs, etc.) so im thinking about globetrekker. i havent seen a globetrekker or lonely planet show and i need some input. i know rick steves perspective on europe but now im looking for something more festive and lively, younger, wild sort of view. i heard that ian wright guy on globetrekker is hilarious and fun to watch by the way.

Globetrekker is a LP show and recycles footage from said show.
Good host, and he goes to the best places.
Palin’s shit is pretty good, especially the photography in his recent ones.
I like Alby Mangels even though many say much of what he did was staged and almost certainly was. He still went to some pretty cool places.
I would think almost all of the travel videos are staged. Nonetheless I like Justine Shapiro and Megan McCormick and Ian Wright, and yes, even Rick Steves. I watched a whole bunch I got from the library lately and enjoyed all of them. But the ones that move along quickly are easier to watch, and the Globetrekker/Lonely Planet ones do.
im not trying to hijack your post but maybe add to it? i have been looking at guides as well. is R. Steves europe through the back door the best backpacking ‘cheap college kid’ guide?
first look at the guidebooks forum, and no I believe Lonely Planet’s "Europe on a shoestring" or Lets Go are the best for backpackers
adam rick steves likes bed and breakfast and moderately cheap hotels. he does give good advice on train travel and such but hes not really for the backpacking youngster crowd.
I’m ticked. Rick Steves never did anything on Coburg. Anyhow, he’s only #2 on my list to Justine Shapiro and that Rudy guy. But anyhow, big props to all travel videos for making travel seemingly more possible and exciting.
