I had to ask:

What are the laws? Each country must be different. From what I understand the Netherlands is tolerant of having small amounts of cannabis, however it is much less tolerated in Italy. Anyone know how the laws are elsewhere?

Where can travelers find cannabis besides Amsterdam?

Any thoughts or experiences?

Well, if you can’t find it, you must be clueless. You can find it anywhere if you really want. Travelling with it? Well, that is fucking stupid in my opinion… having a bunch of grass on public transport or going across borders is just reckless and risky.

If you are gonna score, use moderation and common sense, no point in risking ruining your trip (or worse) for some green.

A couple of guys I was with took about 4 grams through four different borders. Although it was against my will, we ended up fine in the end. Once we got into Croatia we took a train from Zagreb to Split and my buddies even smoked out the window. If it were up to me and not the other two I was traveling with I wouldnt have took the risk.
I also stayed in Prague and they are really tolerant of pot. It was really easy to get bud there but just enjoy it while it lasts. In some of the bars there you can smell pot smoke all around.
Before you take it over borders ask your self if you want to end up in deep shit on vacation.

Well put, Sick and Metal.

I knew some people that were able to get away with crossing borders with some weed, but the fact that a couple of people made it is no guarantee of anything. Imagine the worst scenario possible, not to be pesimistic, but if you decide to go through with it, then be prepared.

IMHO, I think it’s stupid.

Coming out of Amsterdam is when searches happen most frequently. Best not to do it.

Don’t carry anything into the Czech Republic. I took the train from Dresden to Praha and they brought on drugs dogs when crossing the border.

I have friends in northern France who are going quite often to the netherlands by car to get marijuana they never had problems, but I have been stopped at the german border (I had nothing). Through Belgium it quite easy, in France you get a fine if police founds something. In Italy you have to be careful as well as in eastern europe. Spain is allright. Don’t go to UK or switzerlandwith hash, they check.

hope it is going to help you. adrien

In the netherlands you can walk around free with weed/canabis etc.., but you don’t have to try in other european country’s! Don’t take it to other country’s, across borders! little bit dangerous…
You can get cannabis every where in holland, in "coffeeshops", we’ve also got smartshops where you can get mushrooms (paddo’s), it’s fun to try…
watch www.drugsbase.com for some information Wink

Agreed everyone.

The beauty of the U.U. is that they have open borders within the trading block, but the laws still change from country to country when it comes to drug issues. They know people leave Amsterdam with substances that may not be legal in their countries, so checks do occur. If you get caught by police in a country other than the Netherlands, I would be concerned. The risk isn’t worth it.

And if you are traveling home from the Netherlands, remember to use up what you have left or get rid of it. It wouldn’t be the best way to top off your adventure to be caught with it as soon as you land on your home land. I had my bags checked by dogs when I landed home in Canada. So just try to remember not to leave some small baggie in your jeans or a hoody pouch.

Great backpacking advice: www.europeanpilgrima…

Cheers

Do you really want to travel with cannabis? Legally??? If you want a good advise I think you shouldn’t travel with cannabis. If you insist on traveling with cannabis I think you would get most relevant information from a drug dealer because legally is almost impossible to travel across different countries without bumping into trouble.

Don’t travel with cannabis!! You can buy it just about anywhere anyway in Europe. Travelling with it is just asking for trouble. Some countries, especially those in Eastern Europe have particularly severe penalties still. Prague is an exception; loads of people smoke there.

There is always a chance that they check you. I don’t smoke any cannabis myself but I was searched two times, when I went from England to France they checked all my luggage and at the Dutch German border I was even told to strip completely naked and bend over.
