Traveling in Slovenia, Slovakia, and Poland
Wed, 03/30/2005 - 00:52
Okay this is the order that my friend and I would like to go to…Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland. But where are the sites for buses/trains to these countries? I’m having a heck of a time trying to find them!

Slovakia train and bus schedules: http://www.vlak-bus….
Polish railways website: http://www.pkp.pl/
Poland rail schedules: http://rozklad.pkpik… (though I think this contains exactly the same info as the German railways site, except in Polish)
For Polish bus schedules, google for PKS and the name of the town you’re travelling from/to.
International busses: http://www.eurolines…
German railways (best site for rail schedules across Europe): http://reiseauskunft…
Okay, how much would it cost for each leg of the trip? The websites don’t tell you…
Okay, I figured out another option, this is what I told my friend over email:
SO, I was thinking, what if we fly from Ljub. to Berlin (yes, as in Germany) and then stay one day in Berlin (because we’d land at 3:00pm and the connecting flight from Berlin to Krakow is at 1:30 so we wouldn’t make it anyways), then the next day fly to Krakow (it’s only 19 euros and that’s with tax), do Poland and then from Krakow take the bus down to Zakopane where Tatras National Park is, do some hiking there and then from Zakopane go to Bratis. and spend 2 days there and then fly to London (the price from Bratis. is just the same from Warsaw to London). Okay, I looked at how much it would cost from Ljub. to Berlin, it calculated it to be 1,450 SIT…that’s $8! The train from Ljubl. to Bratis is at least 8 hours and it would cost us around $70 for one way.
