True Or False

They dont sell penutbutter in europe

False. I saw it at Monoprix in France for example…it’s probably at a lot of other places. I never looked though…for some reason seeing it at Monoprix sticks out to me haha.
Cor, you got me thinking on that one, I know I used to buy it in England
I just bought some last week (Norway). Lidl, the German uber-discount chain with shops all over Europe, sell it too.
True, they sell it, but it’s GROSS.
On my last trip to Europe, I brought my own, and it was one of the most valued items in my pack.
thanks
Lidl peanut butter ingredients: peanuts, peanut oil, brown sugar. That’s it, and that’s why I like it so much
.
I live in England and you can buy it everywhere, loads of different brands. you’ll have no problem getting hold of some
Forget peanut butter, pick up some nutella!

In the 60’s, it was impossible to find outside of the dozens of large US military installations. You had to find one of the tens of thousands of American soldiers and have them buy it at the PX. Having peanut butter made you real popular with the American college kids at the hostel.
It’s in supermarkets in the Netherlands — “pindakaas” which literally translates “peanut cheese.”

That does sound good.
Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, and end up getting charged double.

I remember when American-style breakfast cereal was new in Southern Europe in the ’90s.
As for peanut butter…can’t say I’ve ever looked for it in Europe. It just doesn’t cross my mind to go searching all over Europe for American cultural products, but it looks like some people here have located it in some stores (Lidl has stores all across Europe, for those of you who really miss and must have peanut butter)
elly:
I believe it’s difficult to find vegemite in Britain, but Britain has something called marmite, which is supposed to be similar.
