i need to make two trips while in england for a week, one from manchester to brighton, and one from brighton into london.
what is the cheapest possible way to do this? should i take a bus ? can someone tell me some good websites for busses?
i figure a train would probably be more expensive so busses would be the best option

Bus is usually a good choice in UK. Unless you can buy your train tickets in advance, bus is usually cheaper than the train. Try www.nationalexpress…. for bus or http://ojp2.national… for rail schedules and prices in UK
You might find a cheap flight between Manchester and London — then you could use bus or train between London and Brighton.
Also check Megabus, www.megabus.co.uk
To fly between manchester and london is silly since you are going to waste a ton of time getting to/from the airports plus I believe it’s just the BA shuttle and BMI that still fly the route. Virgin trains run the route and can be had for 12.50 gbp for a single and takes 2 1/2 hrs. Megabus can be goten for as low as a pound but usually can find fares around 3.50-6.00gbp and takes around 4hrs.I’ve done the train and it’s quick but quite a bit more expensive!
London, Leeds, Manchester
Note the special FUN FARES on National Express!
Buses from Manchester to Brighton are not direct, and you will need to change coach in London Victoria.
Manchester to London IS a funfare as is London to Brighton, but Manchester to Brighton is NOT…
Hence, if you book two separate journies (for as little as ONE pound) you can perhaps pay as little as £2 for a otherwise £30 journey…
I agree with Don, if Megabus is available, than that’s the way to go. It’s extremly cheap.
i would def look at the busses, plus there nice in England!
