Updated Eurotrips (lots of features)
Mon, 02/09/2009 - 12:16
I have updated the Eurotrip Planning tool. Here is a breakdown of the changes:
- Added the ability for travelers to request feedback on Transport, Hostels, Budget, Itinerary, Nightlife, Food, Sights
- Allowed the traveler to specify if they still need to book Flight to Europe, Transportation Around Europe, Accommodations
- Added the ability for Eurotrips to be searched by Feedback Requests, a Date Range, including a City (NOTE: all criteria is ANDed together, so the more options you pick, the less results you will get)
- Added Featured Trips to the Eurotrips landing page.
- Added Trips in Progress to the Eurotrips landing page.
- Added Upcoming Trips to the Eurotrips landing page.
I am leaving from Montreal, Canada with $1600 for 16 days

I’m not sure “wow” quite covers it….
so thats a good thing?
a lot of the changes where motivated by the great feedback we got from you and LTB. we wanted to get the trips live initially, but there were still a bunch of things we were not sure about when initially launched the feature. since we did not know for sure how the trips would be used, we did not build in a way to manage them. this release is an attempt to make it easier to manage requests and feedback.
as you can tell, we will be actively developing this application. if you have further comments or suggestions, please let us know. hopefully this will at least take the edge off and make trips more accessible.

And just to chime in here, Will’s a freakin’ superstar. It feels like only last week that we brainstormed all of these ideas and I think we have something pretty decent.
I especially like the idea of being able to see when people are traveling, that way users can hook up with each other in different cities; hopefully something we can expand on in the near future.
Please, please, please — like Will said — let us know what you think!!! The more feedback, the better!

now that we have quite a bit of the new data entered in the trips, how is the new functionality working out? do we have any further feedback, or is it working out pretty well as is?
