Looking to travel in early March, open jaw Vancouver to London, then Paris back to Vancouver a week later. Have found a price of $1050 CAD all in, on British Airways. Like this option because it is nonstop(pretty much) and don’t have to drive to Seattle, etc. but I have two questions:
1) Is this a good price for what should be “low” season?
2) Is it a good idea to travel with BA, considering their problems with strike action?
3) There is a cheaper ($850) flight on Thomas Cook charter but what happens with delays since they only have one flight/week?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice (it’s been a very long time since I’ve been to Europe).

BA does not fly from Paris nonstop to Vancouver—you’ll have to connect at London (I think that’s what you meant by “pretty much” nonstop). Since that’s the case, consider YVR-LON roundtrip from CanadianAffair.ca — which are the weekly Thos. Cook flights, by the way; maybe cheaper than you found otherwise?

Also, have you tried multi-city searches with Kayak, Mobissimo, and Cfares? How about consolidator multi-city searches with Flightnetwork.com, Airdeals, Flights, and EconomyTravel.com?

I also tried to find one-ways using CanadianAffair for YVR-LGW, then looked for something back from Paris to Vancouver (such as Corsairfly.ca via Montrial)—but, no luck (well, not unless if you want to pay a LOT more than you already found).

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I tried them and the fare I originally found (which was through FlightNetwork.com) is still the lowest. I guess it is just very expensive to fly from the West Coast. Any comments on disadvantages of charter vs. scheduled(major) airlines? Though BA does worry me with its potential strike scenario.
