veggie food
Tue, 02/08/2005 - 16:13
we are backpacking thru brussels, amsterdam, berlin, prague, munich, venice, florence, rome and athens soon and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for any nice veggie restaurants. we don’t eat fish either. also did anyone have any problems with veggie food anywhere cos we don’t fancy eating fries everywhere we go!!
thanx x

In Italy you can always go w/ the pizza and pasta. Tons of meat-free choices there. Also you can go with some nice risottos. Their menus have separate sections for meat and non…so that’ll be easy.
In Athens it sounds funny, but the Greek salad was really wonderful in my estimation. With that homemade feta cheese they use it can be filling. They also have a bunch of those bakeries that sell all sorts of pasteries w/ a variety of things inside like cheese and spinach for example.
Since you are going to pretty big cities theres always the Indian food. Tons of daal and vegetable dishes there.
Also you can go to the doner kebab places, and get your bread/pita/whatever stuffed with vegetables/sauce/etc..get some hummus on the side…good times.
Then you have regular restaraunts which almost always have decent veggie dishes..in whatever form they may come in
Dont worry about it, theres plenty of options in the places you are going.
Great, thank you. Can’t wait for the pasta in italy!!
