Vienna group plan
Sat, 08/06/2005 - 04:33
Here we go again! I am afraid that I may have posted this a bit late because of the difficulty in finding accomodations. However last year we managed to get a room a few weeks before. Since we go the last 3 days during the last week it is a bit easier to find a room. But I suggest you do that now! Some tips can be found here: Wiesn Accomodation Tips I would suggest finding something within walking distance of the fest (1km). There are still some rooms available where we stayed last year Easypalace Station Hotel for the nights of 28 & 29 of September… We will take the night train back to Vienna on Friday night to avoid booking problems (Fri-Sat nights are the busiest) and frankly, the crowds.
The Plan:
Wednesday, 28th, September:
6:07am
We take the EC116 to Munich, arriving at 10:33am.
Be ready to disembark the train as we will run to our rooms, drop off our stuff and proceed immediately to the Oktoberfest.
~11:00am
Festzelt Schottenhamel www.festzelt.schottenhamel.de
Our first stop of the day… arrival at anytime after 11am means that you will not be gauranteed a table unless you reservered in advance last year.
Festivities will include: Food & Beer
~4:00pm
Most tent reservations begin at 5pm or 7pm, but we will be pissed by then so at this time we will stumble around the fairgrounds and then back to the hotels to check-in to our rooms (do not check in earlier as we won’t have time, and probably neither will the hotel… just leave your things).
Take a nap but remember not to oversleep!
~8:00pm
Find some food and stumble back to the Oktoberfest.
~9:00pm
Das Hofbräu-Festzelt www.hb-festzelt.de
The nightly nightcap will take place here as they have a standing room and you can always squeeze in somewhere. Have fun and don’t play in the puddles!
~11:00pm
After the police force us to leave the beer tent during closing procedure, we will stumble to the pub at Schwanthaler str. 88, just a few blocks from the fest where we can drink and eat as much as we want as late as we want!
Thursday, 29th, September:
~11:00am
Das Winzerer Fähndl
Here we go again! Someone please remind me not to drink any coffee! 8O Same fest, different tent beer.. this time Paulaner.

NOTE* Check out and pay in the morning but leave your stuff at your hotel.
~11:00am
Die Augustiner-Festhalle OR Die Löwenbräu-Festhalle

The last day of Ofest 2005 for us will be the final mile of the 3 day marathon. You can do it guys! By this time your body has pretty much accustomed itself to a diet of chicken, sausage, and 10 liters of beer a day. Oooh can’t wait!
~4:00pm
Most tent reservations begin at 5pm or 7pm, but we will be pissed by then so at this time we will stumble around the fairgrounds and the inner city for some cultural sight seeing!
