visa violation
Mon, 11/28/2005 - 18:03
Hello friends,
I am in a jam. I was told before my travels that a work permit was possible to acquire once i arrived in europe. so informed by the consulate of one of the schengen countries back in my home country, my partner and I decided to start the move to europe. Upon arrival, the ministry of work here told us otherwise. the amount that one would have to make to stay was not possible for me to acquire. So now missled from the possibilities and the probabilities. we are now in europe contimplating whether to go back or not because of schengen visa laws that we were missled on in the first place. Does anyone know the severity of violating the the 90 day rule for the schengen countries. we were not planning to go back to canada until july of next year. so in total that would be a 6 month visa violation. I have many riends who have come to europe and overstayd but I have no resources as to what happens if caught? could anyone shed some light?
thanx

I would not overstay your 90 days…It could lead to you being thrown in jail and deported at your expense…Also you could be barred from entering schagen countries again for sometime
