Visit BMW Welt/ Plant on sept. 20 or 21 (2010)
Thu, 03/04/2010 - 04:53
Who is in for a visit to the BMW Welt and/ or a tour in the BMW factory?
I think the plant tour is the most interesting. We could form a group and visit it on monday or tuesday morning. (sept. 20/21). Let me know who is in!
-BMW Welt
The BMW Welt is open from 9 am – 6 pm daily.
- BMW Munich Plant (6 euros each)
Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 10 pm

I am in. I know a guy here in Vienna who works for the architecture firm. I hopefully will get him to come with.
Great!
It might be hard to get a reservation though, I read there aren’t that many tours for the plant.
Also, as only 1 tour a day is in English, we might have to opt for the german language tour.
Please state your preference for either monday or tuesday!
Tuesday. That Monday I will want to drink. Hopefully we can get a private tour if my buddy comes along.
It might be very helpful if your friend has some connections at the plant, as it seems very hard to get a reservation. Let’s go for tuesday morning then, my preference would be at about 9, so we would be able to hit the tents at the wiesn around noon.
I got this response, so I will try again at the end of this month!

Thank you for your inquiry to BMW Welt Infoservice.
At the moment it is possible to make reservations for BMW plant tours until the end of July 2010. The new dates for tours from August 2010 onwards are expected to be available around the end of March 2010.
Please contact us again per e-mail or phone at this space of time, we will gladly check availability for your group.
We are looking forward to your visit!
My friend here in Vienna said he is interested in coming to Oktoberfest with us and he can probably get us a special tour since he works for the architectural firm.
There is no way though I will be beginning a tour at 9am. I’m not one to sleep in that much but I will need a few hours in the morning for my hangover to contemplate if life is still worth living.
That would be great if he can organize this! You are right, 9 AM is too early, I usually need some more time in the morning during the wiesn as well. It would be nice though if it doesn’t start too late, so can go into the tents around 2 PM.
Well hopefully we might have something booked that evening. If we can’t get dinner than we can at least do hippo happy hour around 4pm.
Hippo happy hour?
Have I missed something before?
It’s just what they call the reservation between lunch and dinner at the Hippodrome.
I received word from the BMW Factory, the following options for a tour are available on tuesday sept. 21:
- 21st of September 2010 at 09:30 a.m. – GERMAN
- 21st of September 2010 at 12:00 a.m. (noon) – GERMAN
- 21st of September 2010 at 03:00 p.m. – ENGLISH
I will book the 12 AM tour as at 3PM I prefer to be drinking in the tents again, so if anybody wants to join at 12 please let me know. Keep in mind that the tour will be in German and lasts about 2.5 hours
