what is the weather like in europe in march april and the beginning of may? so i know what to pack

This is like asking, how long is a string?
Where in Europe – it is a big place. You can pack from bikinis to parkas. Need a little more information on destinations.
I am actually curious about what the weather is typically like during the end of March in Amsterdam and Brussels. I’ll be in Northern Europe end of March beginning of April, to be more specific Paris. I plan to spend some time in the countryside, not sure where yet exactly, I’ll figure it out when I get there. Will it be rainy? Anyone know?
Also, could anyone tell me what the weather is like in early-mid May in Switzerland and Austria? I’ve heard that it’s pretty cold maybe 50-60F is this correct? I need to know how much warm clothes will be needed. You know the less weight the better!
Traveling late March, April and May seems like a tricky time to go to Europe since the weather is changing, hard to know what to pack. However, I’m looking forward to it being less touristy and a little less expensive!
If anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated!
Amanda
I think weather is an unpredictable element in your Journey. To be on the safe side I think you should probably take abit of everything for cold and hot climates. People could say
oh yeah it’s really warm I only wore shorts and T-shirts on my trip" and then you go and pack warm weather clothes. When you get there how ever there is a really cold day, and you spend the day cold and shivering and wish you bought a jumper.
If your only going for a few weeks, it might seem like trouble to take some warmer clothes but throw in a jumper or jacket just in case as well as the bikini.
From march till may i will be in dublin, london, paris, barcelona, lisbon, switz., germany, austria, italy, greece, amsterdamn, czeck.
Expect rain.
What part of the US do you live in? Unless you live in the extreme north or south, you can make a bit of a comparison based on latitude. I live in southern Ohio and German, Belgium, Netherlands have a fairly similar climate.
50-60 isn’t cold!!!! Mid 60s is perfect travel weather unless you’re hitting a beach. Heat and humidty suck when you’re doing alot of walking.
I know there are other sites out there ,but you can go to http://www.weather.c… and where it asks you for a city or zip code, type in the city and country (e.g. "Barcelona, Spain). ON the next screen click on "Averages and records." You’ll be able to get the average high and low temps, and rainfall for many major cities worldwide.
i live in maryland, and i read somewhere else earlier to go to that weather.com site and i did and it helped so thanks.
Hey thanks for suggesting that site, I checked it out…looks like the weather will vary from high 40s to 70sF.
I have another question, I want to reduce the weight in my pack as much as possible by bringing minimal clothing, however I don’t want to stand out as an American. Are those zip off pants, you know the ones that turn into shorts, are they very popular in Europe. I’m hesitant to buy them for this reason. I’m debating what type of pants to purchase, I know I don’t want to bring jeans because they are too heavy and take too long to dry. But that’s all I ever wear! I’d like to bring some long skirts, but it might be too cold. Maybe I’ll bring one for nice occassions. I’m not too concerned about fashion, but I don’t want to look like an idiot either. It’s important to bring outfits that are diverse and will be appropriate for several different occassions. Like for going out to dinner, museums, cathedrals, clubbing, hiking, and for long train rides. Any good suggestions?
