I just returned from a 4-week trip, but without my favorite pen-knife (left it on a park bench in Hameln, Germany) and my nifty rain parka (on a train to Amsterdam.) I was a little pissed off, but I survived. But I’ve always wondered about what might happen if I ever misplaced something truly crucial to my trip – maybe a passport, or a Eurailpass.

Anyone out there with a story to tell?
