Hey so this is our trip in order…we are flying into London from vancouver. We were planning on the Global pass but then realized that Slovakia, Ukraine, Moldova and Russia are not included on the Eurail. I was wondering if anyone had ANY input on which eurail pass to purchase according to our plan. Also i was wondering if all the countries had to be touching? Slovakia is right in the middle of Vienna and Hungary but is not included in the Eurail. Would we still be able to use from Hungary to Romania even tho they are after slovakia?? Any infor would be helpful thanks Smile

No problem. Vienna and Bratislava are only about 1 hour apart. Just buy a ticket to Bratislava. You can then either hop back to Vienna to catch a train to Budapest or buy a ticket for the portion of the route to Budapest that’s in Slovakia.

This depends on the pass. A global pass covers all the member countries so whether they touch doesn’t matter. If you buy a select pass (3, 4 or 5 countries) the countries you choose must either “touch” or be connected by ferry.

What does the trip planner recommend for a railpass? You may want a pass for Benelux, Germany, Austria, and maybe Romania. The rest of it will either not be covered by the pass or point to point tickets will be cheaper.

While 19 cities in 47 days is fairly close to reasonable, these 19 cities in 47 days would be nearly impossible. Have you checked the travel times involved in Moldova, Ukraine and Russia? Have you worked out the visa issue for Russia?
