Always purchase tickets directly from the airline. Going through on line discount companies will only cause unnecessary stress. I cannot tell you how many passengers I have spoken to who have has their reservations “lost”, connections messed up, and many other problems due to dealing with these companies. It may cost a little more, but in the long run it is worth it.
Of course, price being the same, or similar, then book direct with the airline. Sometimes a consolidator will have seats for significantly less than the airline or other sellers. I only mention those here that I have had good experience with. I have heard of every type of seller losing reservations, every type of seller (online, airline direct, local travel agent, consolidator, etc.) “messing up” connections, and have heard of all of the above creating or perpetuating some sort of problem for the customer. I follow my own advice—book direct from airline if price is equal or similar; book from a consolidator if it’s significantly cheaper; avoid TAs. I’ve done very well booking myself for hundreds of flight segments since the mid-90s.
Pardon my ignorance but what is a TA Don?
