Yes, round trip.
Can you refer me to the website you used?

Or was it blind luck through hunting and pecking?

Blind luck through hunting and pecking. The closest things I’ve seen lately are from Airfarewatchdog. Sometimes I tip them —like SEA-MAN back in May for $454 r/t total on Icelandair, and yesterday’s tip I gave them about NYC-PAR for $484 on XL—which I kept digging and found for less and posted here on this forum for fellow Eurotrippers; but more often they tip me, and I post their very best here on Eurotrip.
1. Be flexible, and know how seasons affect airfares on your route(s).
2. Sign up for fare alerts with Travelzoo, Farecompare, Airfarewatchdog, and/or Bing Travel.
3. Check the tips and strategies here in our new user thread at the top of this, Cheap Flights, forum.
4. Act fast when a brilliant fare pops up.
Yeah I’m constantly lurking discount airfare sites especially around early spring/mid fall, just never seen anything that low. I’ll look into those new sites and hope for some luck to get across the Atlantic cheap

anyone know how to find cheap business class tickets

@elly, it depends on your route(s). Airlines do occasionally put biz class on sale, but it’s still never as cheap as economy class. You can sign up for alerts directly with the airlines serving your routes. Using miles is often a good strategy, as some airlines allow upgrades from certain economy-classes if you have enough miles to add to the price. Also consider economy extra which can also go on sale, and can usually be upgraded with less miles than biz class. SAS—which I know don’t serve Australia, but just as an example—allow upgrades to it’s economy extra for 10,000 miles, and it’s a very good economy extra product (unlike their Star Alliance partner United which doesn’t offer much extra in their, uh, economy extra). If it’s just legroom you’re after, then paying a supplement for en exit row is probably the cheapest way to get more room in front of your airline seat.
Try Screw The Airlines.
It’s where I get some travel tips to save on budget with all those airlines.
Hope that would help you.
Being a bargain traveler has a lot of advantages
i managed to find flight incl an economy for less than $3000

My some cheapest was (all round trip):
London – New York 220 euro
Kaunas – Paris 10 euro
Bremen – Palma de Mallorca 2 euro
My best airfare to date has to be on United last May-June IAD-LHR, CDG-IAD for $496 all incl. Booked it on Thursday and left that Sunday, but had been watching it at that price for 2 mos prior. ROM – IAD would have been $20 less at $476. Kicker was that we got bumped to Economy Plus on the outbound and then they rearranged those in Econ Plus so that dd and I had a 3 seat row to ourselves. Wonderful!! No such fares to be found this year and I’ve been looking!!
