i’ve heard of the superclubs… home, fabric, and ministry of sound… but i’m wondering if they are up to the hype? are there equally as cool places out there? cheaper options? any thoughts on the best pub in london? where can you see live music?
is it true that the bars all close at 11pm???

Personally I was a fan of the Walkabout in Sheppard’s Bush — but that said I love aussies and I was craving a good time in a bar similar to those at home —- but we always had a blast there.

When I lived in London my group was mainly straight women and gay men — so I got to know alot of the bars/clubs in Soho —- Manto was ALWAYS fun, gay or straight, and there was some great (although usually gay), eyecandy!

We would just go into the centre of London — get out around Piccadily Circus and wander around — Avoid the tourist-traps in Leicester Square — but the Zoo Bar is around there and that’s a fun place (if you’re over 21)….

Other than that you could move south and find something in there — just grab a time out and pick something that looks cool!

Oh— I’ve never been, but I’ve always been intruiged by the concept of the Church — a club you can party at all DAY on sundays — a friend said it was a little dodgy — but the thought of grooving during the DAY sounds kinda fun!

Pubs have last call at 11:30, so they kick you out by midnight, there are some later hours pubs, but even they close at 1 am. Clubs however do stay open late, so I wouldn’y worry about having to make it an early night. Manada is right, Leicester square is a tourist trap, although at the time (4 years ago) Home seemed pretty cool. I went there a bunch of times and had a really great time. Although, the last time I walked by it, it looked closed, maybe it was under renovation or something. I did always want to go to the Ministry, but the cover was always so ridiculous that I just couldn’t do it. But they are supposed to bring the best DJ’s there, so it might be worth it.

Walkabout Edinburgh is much better than the London locale.

Like someone above mentioned, a lot of things close early..so once you’ve absorbed the city hit up the Generator hostel bar. Place at least stays open til 2, and the room next door is open 24/7. A lot of easy hookups there if thats your thing.
