When to book for September?
Tue, 03/14/2006 - 14:19
I’m hoping to take a quick trip to paris sometime during late summer or early fall…(july-september) and was curious as to when the airlines will start publishing their best deals for that timeframe. I would be leaving from Oklahoma or Texas (Dallas) and right now, the going rate looks to be anywhere from 600-900 dollars. From what i’ve seen, the best deals seem to come out about three to four months in advance, is that about right in my situation? Thanks

It’s getting harder to predict—especially for summer. In your case, I would advice Sept. will likely be somewhat cheaper (maybe $200 less) vs. July or Aug., and consolidators are probably worth a look: www.flights.com www.economytravel.co… www.airdeals.com etc.
I stumbled across a website (Farecrawler) which charts when airline prices increase/drop based on published fares. There’s one for London, not Paris but the same rules may apply. Worth a shot.
Most airlines keep the same price to Europe until November first.I usually keep track on these fares during Fall and the earliest drop fare usually happen after that day.
