When does the busy season end in Europe?
Tue, 07/19/2005 - 15:21
Thinking of heading back to London and Scotland but want to get the best deal(well duh!). When does the tourist season end?
As usual I have no idea what I am doing and I am having no luck finding tickets that are in my price range and I am not sure if $650-700 per ticket is what should be expected for Detroit to London or if I am still searching during the high season.

Have you tried the month-long search feature at ITASoftware.com ?
Yeah I usually use the month long ita search.
We flew Toronto to Frankfurt on Air Transat in May for $860.00 for the two of us and last fall we found that the best time to book for a major airline was the week after Labour Day. Air Canada, Toronto to Amsterdam was $1050.00 for two. We found it less busy pretty much everywhere in September over May.
Some airlines shift to lower shoulder-season pricing on Sept. 1; some around mid-Sept.; and some not until Oct. N.America to warmer places like Italy and Spain often continue near-peak pricing even through September.
Try www.1800flyeurope.co… part of Auto Europe. They have negotiated fares that look pretty good for Sept. outbound.
Also Continental has great fare to Bristol good from now through December. And USAir has been advertising specials to Glasgow and Dublin.
