when to travel
Mon, 12/19/2005 - 02:41
Hi! I have been planning a backpacking trip for well over two years and I actually have the chance to go this spring/summer. The only thing I have been wondering is whether or not may/june it will be sweltering hot. I don’t know if I could go to europe and not experience the crazy hot Portuguese sun it has pretty much always been my favourite part of going. So I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me whether I can sweat it out in may and june or if I’m gonna have to go july/august. Thanks!

I travelled through Portugal and Spain mid June until the 1st week of July and I remember the locals thought it still not warm enough to go swimming, many pools were still covered over. Cadiz on the coast of Spain was very windy, mind you that is where the best windsurfing and surfing is to be found
I’m a fan off shoulder season or off season, so I’d vote for May-June for most places, but if you’re going to lay on a Portuguese beach, I don’t know.
