Where to go in December/January

I have about 4-6 weeks of in December. I am looking for somewhere fun to go. I will be traveling solo and am familiar with western europe and S. America and would like to visit somwplace new. Any suggestions would be apreciated. Thanks
Check out www.lonelyplanet.com and then destinations. Browse around some places (probably warm ones) that you are sort of interested in, then ask some more questions when you’ve narrowed it down somewhat.

I would say Southeast Asia or India but I am terribly biased. Dec/Jan would also be a great time of year to go to NZ or OZ.
