I would suggest reading through a lot of the forums and doing a search of forums for specific topics. Go to a library or bookstore and look at guidebooks to get an idea of where specifically you want to go. Read other people’s travelogs.

To be any help at all we need more specific info on you and your parents interests, because general requests like "fun" and "quite" will just get you general replies like Paris, London, Rome…

It will be more helpful to do a little research to get an idea about locations and then ask more specific question (like is Pisa worthwhile stop?)

you should probably check with your family and figure out their agendas first, mostly your parents’s – at least which order they’re going to see the countries in! Once you know where you’ll be roughly, start reading and doing more research about the places and then come back and ask specific questions.

If it were me, I would narrow down the list of countries – with only one month you won’t see much in each country at all if you try to tackle all four. Of course, it’s up to you, but if it were me I would choose two or three of those countries and you won’t have so much time taken up by moving from place to place.

A nice month long trip could be:

4 days Rome
3 days Florence
3 days Venice
4 days Italian or French Riviera (for some beach time)
4 or 5 days Paris (could do daytrips too)
1 week England

I think that totals almost a month, and you would be going at a nice pace. Have a great trip wherever you decide to go!

I have just returned from Europe. I spent a week in England this time, but I’ve been there a couple of times before and here are some things that might help you:
London- like any big city in the world, is hip and happening so you’ll most probably have a good time there, especially if you like museums and theatre. Go to a theatre, I think that is one of the best attractions London has to offer! Everything is very expensive though.
North England- For a more serene, less polluted and definitely more beautiful side of England, head north, to places like Lake District, Bath and Chester. Lake District showcases the English Countryside at its most splendid, its gorgeous! North England will be especially rewarding if your family likes nature- parks and such.

I think that sounds like a good plan, and it would work out very well for the parents to do their own thing during the day, and the kids to do their thing. You wouldn’t have to be joined at the hip – and it would probably be a great relief to all of you for that not to be the case.
