Which cities to visit
Tue, 03/17/2009 - 18:31
I will be interested to know from you guys, that which city is beautiful and worthy to visit from tourist point of view in Germany Frankfurt or Munich and for Spain Madrid or Barcelona
Regards.
I am leaving from Saudi Arabia and traveling for 24 days
Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza Town, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Milan, Munich

Germany – Berlin – absolutely! Haven’t been to any of the other places but Berlin is great! Very informative – history wise – if you have a good tour guide but there is so much history and it is a gorgeous country! I would re-visit there again anytime – absolutely!
Cairo, Moscow, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo
Personally i would take Munich over Frankfurt and Barcelona over Madrid, Despite that I quite like Madrid as well.
Athens, Páros, Náxos, Mýkonos, Náxos, Íos, Thíra
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
I would take Munich over Berlin and Frankfurt,,,greta outdoor beer gardens that despite their popularity with tourists are still a big part of the life of regular germans.
Madrid over Barcelona…Barcelona is beautiful, but Madrdid has more options for side trips in my opinion
“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list”
I would definitly take barcelona over madrid….I was actually a little bored in Madrid and there are so many cool things to see and do in Barcelona.
I’ve heard that Frankfurt isn’t too exciting…so I would go with Munich. I loved it when I was there.
Thanks alot for your valuable suggestion….

I would surely pick Munich over Frankfurt. It is harder to choose between Barcelona and Madrid, since these are both great cities with distinct culture. If you are into art, Prado has a collection worthy enough to justify a choice of Madrid over Barcelona. However, Barcelona has its own share of attractions as well. The myriad weird but beautiful architechtures designed by Gaudi, the Ramblas and the Picasso museum as well. I would visit both if I had the slightest opportunity to squeeze in an extra day or two!
I absolutely implore you not to waste your time in Frankfurt.
Unless you have a specific museum you want to see (I did when I went), all the “sites” you can see there are just “lesser versions” of what you can see elsewhere. Roman ruins, halftimbered houses, hell even the American-looking city itself. The first two things, I might add, are rather paltry when compared to what you can find elsewhere. The only really cool thing about the city is the Senckenberg Museum, but even this has mostly stuff you can see in Berlin’s Museum für Naturkunde, for instance (though the dinosaur statues outside are pretty cool.)
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens
