It is called reality. Deal with it. People might say things you don’t like. A fact of life.

I had no idea children were independently travelling Europe these days. Must have something to do with Britney Spears and growing up quickly, what with the internet and fast food etc.

Dacia 1300/ Dacia 1310 is the copy of Renault 12.(http://home.wxs.nl/~… for the fans of old cars). While I love the design of the old Renault 4, I see nothing special into Renault 12 / Dacia 1300

I’m not driving an old Renault, neither Dacia.

Don’t know how it didn’t reach you.
Maybe I should have addressed to your local police station, i am sure you would have been able to pick it up on one of your frequent visits there.

Also, 9am bed times are fun.

This is an over 18’s web page, adult content… it’s not a school vacation site.

So all you kiddie winkles bugger right off our website!

Tommo, any chance of putting the nude snaps of your missus up on T.O.S photos webpage, the ones you sent into the Readers Wives section of your favourite Jazz Mag??

Well, I’m from Ottawa, Canada’s capital, and I’m a Datacenter Manager (read: I have an office in a big building with a whole bunch of computers) for a local ISP. My dad worked with NATO overseas, and as a result, we got to fly out to see him once a year in Holland, Belgium, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Vienna, Venice, etc… Needless to say, travelling can be quite habit-forming. Smile

well, to compare apples, I have over three thousand computers in the floor underneath my desk, but trust me – they ain’t that special – they’re just computers. I’m convinced I’m in the wrong field, though… I should have been an architect, or lawyer, or wine-maker.

Oh well… it’s probably why I love France – it’s about as far away from work as I can get. Smile

Well I’m a 24 yrs old French Canadian woman, my real name is Renée and I’m from Quebec (5 min from downtown Ottawa).

J’ai plus de facilité a ecrire en français. So please forgive my poor spelling .I’m a child educator and I love it I started traveling 3 years ago and I’ve been twice to Mexico; Acapulco and Cancun. I love both of the trips but I’m now ready for a more adventurous trip.

So me and my boyfriend are leaving on the 27 of April for Paris!!! I am having a hard time minding myself that it’s only 11 days and not enough time to visit all the place I would like. I really enjoy this website, it’s helping me realize what I want to get out of this trip!

a plus tard,
Renée

Hey folks, I realise that this topic has probably lost its interest now…. but I feel left out so I’m gonna poist anyway!
Im only 18, Scottish, male, and just planning my first trip abroad this summer.
I am meant to be in University but cancelled at the last minute due to money problems/nerves. Right now I’m labouring for a local bricklayer and saving cash for travelling. I am looking forward to travelling so much, i know its not for 5 months yet but it’s gonna be brilliant.
So far I’ve only been on family two week breaks to Europe, spent a lot of my childhood in France, recently been in Greece. The past two years ive been camping a lot in Scotland (home territory), so if anyones got any questions on back packing in Scotland I’m more than happy to help.

I have been to costa rica and thiland and I went to Japan for a day.

I was going to go to europe this summer but recently decided to roll it into my larger trip so I can earn more money.

so I lurk on the board and ask questions as I plan….

norah, my comments we not meaning of the disrespect in any ways!

I think the culture of the patriotic albanian is differing from that of the bostonian.

I simply think i like the name. that is all.

anyways, you are still welcomed with open arms in Albania. And I learn that when I sail ASSAIL it is not good. I do "DEFINE ASSAIL" on YAHOO and I learn this sounds violent.

So I assure you, no one get assailed by my workers, like LEOPOLD. We are not bandits.

Interesting thread. Well, here’s me:

My name is Christian and I live in Plano, Texas – home of JCPenny, EDS, and Frito Lay.

I’m 35 and single…hoping that the "single" part will change some day. Smile

I have 2 cats and have to pay a pet rent for them at the apartment where I live (that has to be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of).

I can speak/read/write in German. My belief is that once you know one of the European languages, you can pretty much suss out the meaning of words/phrases/sentences in other Euro languages. Having said that, I kinda know a bit of French, Spanish, Dutch and Italian. I know a tiny bit of Japanese as well.

Work for me is with a company that acts as a middleman between advertising agencies and TV stations around the country. We negotiate rates with stations and Nielsen numbers with the agencies to place commercials on TV.

Travelling is in my system and that’s probably due in part to me being an Army brat, so I’ve had my fair share of moves. I was born in New Jersey, then moved to Dallas, TX (4 years), then to Germany (Augsburg & Aschaffenburg) for 5 years, back to New Jersey for 3 years, then finally anchored down in Plano since ’82.

The passion for travelling again didn’t hit me until I neared my graduation date from University. My parents said they’d send me over to Europe for 2 weeks so I could go backpacking (of course, this didn’t happen until 2 years later out of Uni). I found this site way back in ’96 and it provided me with a wealth of information about this activity. To this day I can’t recall what got me interested in backpacking, but I’m happy I went with it! Ever since I did the 2 weeks, I was hooked. The following year I did a month in Europe, which then lead to more specific destinations such as Greece, Turkey and Egypt.

Favorite cities: London and Paris – but Paris has a slight edge.
Favorite restaurant: Wagamama.
Countries I’ve been to: Ireland (very briefly – and that was just in the airport in Shannon…I lost my teddy bear there in ’74, so if they have a lost and found there, see if it’s there), England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece, Egypt and Turkey.

Ahhh heck I have read all these post but never chimed in. I am 41 and always wanted to travel the world. Having a son at 25 and raising him nearly since as a single parent, changed those plans a bit, HA, but finally through working a second job as a waitress on weekends I am planning our trip to the UK this summer. Can’t wait, I have learned so much from this site and all of you. I have already told my now sixteen year old son that for his highschool graduation in two years I will pay for his round trip ticket to Europe, he has to cover and save for the other cost which as he already is working on weekends he will do. I want to get in as many trips before he graduates not only as I know the time is coming that he’s not going to want to travel with Mom but as I really believe traveling opens ones eyes to so much and I want to give him that experience in hopes that through his life he continues the journey.

Hey everyone,

My name is Matt (shocking given my user name Wink ) and i’m 22 years old.

I was born and raised on Long Island, New York and graduated from Boston University in May 2004. In the meantime i’ve been working as a waiter to save for this trip, which is just over 2 weeks away.

Ive always enjoyed travelling and have been dreaming about this trip since 2002. I went to China in 1996 for 3 weeks with a student group and have been to Mexico and all over the caribbean. This will be my first time to Europe!!

My name is Jalen, live in Phoenix AZ. Leave on my 30-day trip to Europe in 1 week. I’m 32 years old, and work as an insurance claims adjustor.

I’ve travelled all over western USA (Yosemite is the MOST BEAUTIFUL place in the U.S.) I just got my passport and looking forward to seeing France, Italy, and Germany, Amsterdam/Belgium if time / weather permits. Never been out of the USA before, so a wee bit nervous, but extremely excited.

I’d agree with a lot of the others here – that when not travelling, the next best thing is to plan for my next trip.

I’m going to berlin and then london in about 2 weeks and hope to get to study abroad later this year.

Hey everyone,

My name is Karyn, 25/f, married and a Cali. native currently living in the SF bay area. I have degree in Studio Art, but double as county employee just to put gas in my car and live in this hideously expensive place. Whats left is stashed away for my travel addiction. I just took my first trip to Europe last year after several years of dreaming about it but was always too scared. Now I’m leaving for a 6wk adventure on Apr. 28th! I’ve been all over the US and parts of Mexico and the Caribbean as well, and planning a trip to Australia next year. It’s become a borderline, if not complete obsession

Let’s see, I’m 22/f living in Orlando and graduating from UCF in 3 1/2 weeks! After graduation I have a month before I head over to Europe for a 2 month backpacking trip with my best friend here and one of my old flatmates in England. Our itinerary is extremely "soft" at the moment, as in I know I am flying into London on June 9th and flying out on Aug. 8th, but other than that, you’ve got me. I dunno where we’ll be going exactly, just taking it easy and planning it as we go.

I’ve traveled quite a bit in the states, but I didn’t go abroad until last year (apart from a cruise that went about 60 miles off the Florida coast to the Bahamas). I spent 3 months studying in the UK in Northampton, then I did a whirlwind 2 week Eurotrip with my mom, who flew over to meet me at the end of the term.

This fall I’ll be heading back to the UK on a BUNAC work visa to work for 6 months. I’m stuck between deciding on Birmingham or London at the moment, so if anybody has any personal insight, do share! Or if anybody is doing something similar (or has done), it would be great to hear from you.

Hey Everyone,

I am a 26yo female from Long Island, New York. Currently, I am full-time graduate student working on a Masters in Literacy and am working full-time as a Teacher Assistant in my former high school. I also work part-time at a natural food/supplement shop.

THE THINGS I LOVE: (in no particular order)

1)I live to travel and am constantly planning my upcomming trips. I hope to teach and live abroad some day. I finance my eurotrips through the helpful services of Student Loan Corp, and will be in debt for the next 30 years.

2)I enjoy meeting new and exciting people and sharing adventures with them.

3)Beer, chocolate, and pizza. Eventhough I enjoy such things, I try to stay healthy by going to the gym, hiking, biking, snowboarding, and other activities.

4)Animals and hope to have some land some day where I can raise llamas and sheep because I like woolly things.

5)Music— I need music in my life. I go to live performances that range from classical to jazz to bluegrass to funk to rock to alternative to dance, etc etc.

6)Reading— there are so many books and so little time

7)Camping and roasting marshmellows

that’s me in a nutshell

hope all are well and happy travels

—Melissa

I’ll be 25 years old in approximately 3 hours, grad student in electrical engineering, defending thesis in 3 days and I’ll be putting this school stuff away forever. 6 1/2 years is more than enough for me.

Been to Europe for 1 month trip 2 year ago after undergrad. Will be turning my thesis in to the school in 9 days and my flight to Paris leaves in 14 days, where I’ll spend a couple weeks with my girlfriend in Paris, swiss, and italy before I head to central/eastern europe for a couple months alone.

Hobbies: Reading history related books, golf, snowboarding (even though I’m moving to the desert this summer), hiking, mountain biking and any type of outdoor activities.

Plan to take advantage of my 3-4 weeks vacation time with my new job and make at least two trips a year, even though they won’t be as long as I would like. maybe i’ll find a way to retire early or something

Cheers,

J

Okay, okay, so you want the details eh?

I’m female, single, and I’ll be 25 in less than a month. I live in Montreal, where I work in advertising as an account supervisor at a direct mail agency.

I love to travel and so far have been all over North America, to Israel 4 times, a few trips to Western Europe, and most recently two weeks in Costa Rica. Hoping to add to that list shortly.

Segacs, we’re quite similar Smile

I’m 25 too, work in Direct mail/marketing at a collectibles company in the Chicago area. Small world…… Wonder if you too are a user of Affinium or similar campaign management software….

This thread has grown so much from when I started it way back when. I’m glad to see it always keeps popping up to the top again just when I think it’s dead. It’s been great reading about you all!

Auher, nope, I don’t use Affinium or any of the other fancy softwares. As an agency we don’t house any of our client data in-house, though we do have a data processing department for postal preparation, merge/purge, trade file extraction, and the like. I’m in fundraising so there are specialized software packages available that many of our clients use, like Raiser’s Edge or DonorPerfect.

I see…

I work with developing the promo campaigns for our products and function as a product manager, so I use Affinium to pull the names for mailing which then go to the print production people & get taken care of. So I’m primarily responsible for the strategy of the segments I mail, as well as the choosing all the creative that the copywriters and designers do.

Interesting to learn about ya & all of you guys!
