Winter Europe Intinary
Wed, 05/18/2011 - 05:39
Hi
I am planning on traveling through Europe in Dec 11 / Jan 12 with my daughter (this is her university break time so winter it is). We have 60 days, arriving in London on 30th November, departing Paris on 27th Jan 2012.
We want to see as much of Europe as cheaply as possible, however I am concerned about being somewhere nice for Christmas (coming from West Australia were we don’t have snow) we would like a white Christmas.
I have planned the following itinerary and was hoping for some feedback from experienced travelers, especially around the ideal location for Christmas at taking into account public holidays and transport issues.
London, United Kingdom for 6 days

Austria should be very festive and Christmasy.
You have a lot of zig-zagging around and short stays, I personally might consolidate a bit, (it might even save money with lodging) but that’s just me.
edited to add: I’ve only ever been in the UK (London and Edinburgh) for the Christmas holidays, but I do remember places being closed and transportation being a problem. The Tube shut down early and we had to walk to a party, all dressed up, in sheets of rain.
