Winter Olympics / Turino
Fri, 01/27/2006 - 12:45
I’m going to the winter Olympics for a day, since I happen to be in Italy when the games are on. Ive never been to northern Italy, but i wanted to know if anyone had suggestions of smaller towns/hostels to stay in close by to turino. I expect it’s going to be very very busy during the winter games, so id’ rather stay right outside if possible and take a train in. The only caveat is, I have to be able to catch a train to Milan easily, for the next day.
Thanks for the help!

Since no one else has any imput, I thought I would attempt to help you out.
I don’t have much experience with the olympics, but I am pretty sure that everything is going to be really booked up, even the cities nearby. If it was me, I would take an early train into torino (from Milan it’s about 1 1/2 to 2 hours), I’m assuming that you are not going to any events otherwise you would have mentioned tickets, and then take a late train away. It is going to be crazy, I know all of Utah was crammed when the olympics were there… good luck!
I am going to the Olympics for the US vs Slovakia hockey game. We are staying in Milan and taking a train over in the morning for the game that night. We looked into rooms in and around Turin and found nothing that was well-priced. I suggest just getting a room in Milan
