Winter/New Years in Sweden
Mon, 10/04/2004 - 02:20
I am planning a trip to Sweden after Christmas (actually I’m on a plane to Sweden on the 25th)and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for neat things to see & do (especially for New Years…I was thinking Stockholm??) I will be based around the Jonkoping area (my boyfriend is going to school there) but will probably be traveling mainly on my own w/ plenty of time to do so. So if anyone has any suggestions or will be in the area and/or is looking for a travel partner, that would be great.

yup, Stockholm for New Year’s if you and your boyfriend hasn’t got a party in Jönköping to go to. Chances are it’ll be cold but snowless down here (Stockholm & also Jönköping) which means you can go ice skating in Stockholm or on Lake Vättern. Or figureskating in Kungsträdgården (Sthlm City). the shops will be open and the stuff will be on sale but I doubt you’re coming to Sweden for the bargains
hot chocolat in the cellars of the Old City, museums, old buildings, the changing of the palace guard…it’s much the same as in summer, but lots colder…
