Hello All,

My wife is going to apply to the Irish Consulate for her passport. Her mother was Irish. Once she obtains her passport will this allow both of us to move to EU and find work? Or, is there a process I will need to go through to work abroad.

Thanks,
T.

Despite the right of free movement and access to employment in the EU, each country is free to set its own regulations regarding residence and employment of nationals from other member countries and their families. I can not comment on the laws of all the member countries. Denmark gives work permission to spouses of EU citisens, if the EU citisen is lawfully residing and employed in DK, but in general an EU citisen can only stay in Denmark for 3 months, renewable to 6 months, without a qualifying job, before they must leave.
