Working in France during Sept-Oct
Tue, 06/05/2012 - 17:17
I am thinking of going to France to work, improve my French and travel a bit during September and possibly October of this year. I think I want to take up part-time work as well… what are the best jobs for people like me!? Thanks, Jacob.
The biggest obstacle is that unless you have a European passport at the time, you can’t legally work. You might pick up under-the-table small jobs. But if your boss stiffs you, what are you going to do? Tell the authorities, who will then proceed to deport you for illegally working without a pre-approved permit (work visa), enrollment in obligatory tax withholding, etc.? You’ll also need a new passport after that.
I’m British, so part of the European Union so I don’t think that applies to me? But thank-you.
