World Cup 06
Mon, 02/20/2006 - 23:35
Hey just found this site out. Went to europe about 5 years ago with parents, now going this summer for a bout 21 days. Manly staying in Germany, trying to get tickets to a World Cup game. What should i check out? Where are good spots to go in Germany? Or outside the country besides Amsterdam (got a 3 night hostel there). PLease let me know. Any feedback will help. Thanks.
Also how much cash is enough for that long? And is just a backpack fine? OR should i bring a hiking pack and a regular backpack? Thanks Kevin

I’m going there around the same time as well with three mates. We’re still seeking tickets too but we’re not that worried if we don’t get any (arriving late june, leaving late july). Our plan so far is to head from frankfurt the day we arrive to Munich and probably stay there for a week or so. From there we’ll move east to Prague (again assuming we don’t get any tickets, if we do we’ll stay around of course). I’ve heard good things about Slovenia and i’m meeting up with someone who was there recently in a month so i’ll have a better idea then. The only other place we know we’re going for certain is Amsterdam to cap the trip off.
I’m thinking of a normal hiking type backpack with a very small day pack that is easily folded up and put inside the main pack (you can get great ones that take up almost no space). I’ve always been a light traveller so I should do alright.
